Teeming with parks, LaSalle is one of Montreal’s greenest boroughs. Its crown jewel is the parc des Rapides, a slice of heaven and an oasis of tranquillity in the heart of the metropolis. In summer, the park attracts kayakers and rafters as well as picnickers who enjoy a view of the rapids as well as the rare species of birds that flock to the area.
LaSalle offers its residents cultural entertainment via its two performance halls, salle Jean-Grimaldi and Théâtre du Grand Sault. It also has an exhibition hall and boasts the Moulin Fleming, a five-story windmill built in 1827.
Just like the City’s other neighbourhoods, LaSalle has a solid infrastructure that meets the needs of its population: community gardens, a municipal library, swimming pools, outdoor skating rinks and even a sports complex.
LaSalle is strategically located in the southwest part of the island, midway between Montréal-Trudeau Airport and downtown.
