Verdun

Neighbourhood profile

Verdun is located between downtown and the magnificent banks of the Saint Lawrence River. The neighbourhood offers many green spaces and a pleasant living environment. Its parks and gardens, along with the wooded areas on Nuns’ Island, earn it a reputation as a green oasis at the gateway to downtown.

Verdun is known for the vitality of its community life – especially during the summer months, when the bicycle paths along the river and the many playing fields (volley-ball, basketball) are popular with residents – and all Montrealers.

Verdun is also home to prestigious establishments such as the Douglas mental health university institute and the Verdun circus school.
