Montreal: A green city
Because they value their green space and the majestic St. Lawrence River, Montrealers feel strongly about the environment. Whether it’s by recycling, composting, using public transportation or watching their water consumption, Montrealers are going greener every day.
To support their efforts, the City offers a variety of services that are indispensable to this community effort.
- Events

- Réseau québécois des femmes en environnement ― A non-profit organization that provides women with a forum on environmental and sustainable development issues.

- Sentier urbain ― A community organization committed to protecting the environment.
- Ville de Montréal ― An exchange network on sustainable development.
- WWF Canada ― The Canadian subsidiary of an international organization whose mission is to stop the degradation of the planet’s natural environment through various means.

- Centre d’expertise des matières résiduelles ― This centre disseminates information to educate the public on sustainable and responsible waste management.
- Écos-quartiers ― Collect paint, batteries and other hazardous materials for recycling.
